  We had the worst experience working with Janis Hanna from Howard Hanna Strongsville office (she worked at the North Olmsted office at the time). She was extremely unreliable and untrustworthy. During our experience with her she neglected to return our emails after repeatedly trying to contact her for the return of our earnest money. During the home buying process she did not show up for our home inspection, and even after us calling her, she did not arrive until the inspection was over. Thankfully, the homeowners were very kind and allowed our inspector to do his job. It was terribly embarrassing especially because it was a short sale and the owners were losing their house. Once we went forward with the deal and submitted an offer she urged us to put down $1000. Once again thankfully my fiancé was hesitant and only put down $100. The homeowners were able to keep their house and our deal did not go through therefore we should have received our money back. Instead, Janis Hanna avoided our emails and phone calls for months. We then got a hold of her supervisor who was able to find the paper work submitted by Janis. There were CLEARLY amendments made to the document after the fact in her handwriting in a different type of pen. She had handwritten above the amount of $100 that this would be collect upon bank acceptance. Of course we did not have our original copy any longer since it had been a year after the fact so we had no way to prove we had given her this money. Lesson learned, find a reliable agent who won't steal from you and be sure to save ALL documentation. This woman should honestly not have a job in real estate after the stories I've heard, it hasn't just been us that have had terrible experiences working with her, buyers and sellers beware.
